Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Does the Business for Embracer as It Nears 2 Million Copies Sold
Embracer has celebrated the remarkable success of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, revealing that the game is approaching the 2 million sales milestone. Just a day after its launch, the game sold an impressive 1 million copies, and within 10 days, that number nearly doubled. This stellar performance underscores the triumph of developer Warhorse Studios' sequel to their medieval Europe action role-playing game, which hit the shelves on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Embracer highlighted that *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original *Kingdom Come: Deliverance* reached a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.
It’s important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* would be higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. However, neither Sony nor Microsoft disclose player numbers publicly.
Embracer, which acquired Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, described *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* as “initially successful” not just in sales, but also in its reception among players and critics. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors praised the dedication and hard work of both Warhorse Studios and their publisher, Deep Silver. He expressed confidence that the game would continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, citing its high quality, immersive experience, and widespread appeal. Wingefors also mentioned that Warhorse Studios has planned a robust roadmap for the next 12 months, promising updates and new content to keep the community engaged and the game evolving.
In addition to *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Embracer is gearing up for the release of *Killing Floor 3* later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its future titles, with 10 triple-A games slated for release over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these projects are being developed internally, while two are from external studios.
For FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled two triple-A games to be released towards the end of the financial year. Alongside these, they are planning several mid-sized releases including *Gothic 1 Remake*, *REANIMAL*, *Fellowship*, *Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core*, *Titan Quest II*, *Screamer*, *Echoes of the End* (working title), *Tides of Tomorrow*, *Satisfactory* (console version), and the full release of *Wreckfest 2*. There are also a similar number of mid-sized games yet to be announced.
Despite recent challenges, including layoffs and the sale of studios like Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer continues to hold onto Metro developer 4A Games, which is currently developing a new game in the series.
