Freedom Wars Remastered displays each Abductor's health bar prominently on its torso. Players employ diverse weapons and combat items to deplete this health and secure victory. The game utilizes various damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons are often used for severing specific body parts, Impact Damage plays a similar strategic role.
Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage functionality and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, this doesn't directly translate to increased overall damage. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage that boosts the force of your standard attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting other reactions, creating an opening for substantial damage before recovery.
Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden, meaning an Abductor can stagger at any point once the rate surpasses a specific threshold. This presents both advantages and drawbacks. Offline play allows for charging powerful follow-up attacks. However, in online play, staggering the Abductor might hinder teammate attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react to staggering by moving backward, potentially complicating precise hit placement.
Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature allows crafting modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module necessitates Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined using the Synthesise Modules feature to enhance their effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon boosts its Impact Damage, improving stagger capabilities.
Because Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes stagger efficiency. This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up invaluable for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with inherent stagger potential.
