Fans have been speculating about Silent Hill f's placement in the series timeline, but a May 20 tweet from Konami on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed it is a standalone game separate from the main series, allowing newcomers to jump right in.

Even so, the developers mentioned during the Silent Hill Transmission in March that subtle nods to previous games would be included.

Connecting this game directly to the titular town is challenging, as the original series was set in 1990s America, while Silent Hill f takes place in 1960s Japan. Although Konami is moving away from the classic setting, they have assured fans that the game will deliver the same deep psychological horror they are celebrated for.

Upcoming Silent Hill f Panel at Anime Expo 2025

More details will be coming soon, as Silent Hill f is scheduled for a panel at Anime Expo 2025. Anime Expo announced on X on May 21 that Konami will host "Unmasking SILENT HILL f," featuring Producer Motoi Okamoto, Writer Ryukishi07, and Composer Akira Yamaoka.

The event is set for July 4, from 3:15 PM to 4:05 PM at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. Tickets and panel registration are available through Anime Expo's official post. There has been no official word on whether the panel will be live-streamed.

Konami has remained quiet about Silent Hill f's release date, but this event might offer hints about when the next entry in the psychological survival horror series will arrive.
