"Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake to Feature Major Game Mechanics Overhaul"
The MP1st website has recently unveiled intriguing details about the unannounced remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. What makes these details particularly fascinating is that they stem from the portfolio website of an unnamed developer, rather than from traditional insider sources. The project, currently in development by Virtuos Studio and utilizing the powerful Unreal Engine 5, promises to bring significant enhancements to the beloved game.
According to the portfolio of a former Virtuos employee, Oblivion is set to undergo a complete transformation. This includes comprehensive updates to various game mechanics such as stamina, stealth, attack blocking, archery, damage reactions, and the user interface. For instance, the revamped blocking mechanics are inspired by the dynamic and engaging systems found in Soulslike games, aiming to address the original's lackluster and disappointing blocking system. Additionally, the damage calculation system has been overhauled to include visible reactions to hits, while stamina mechanics are expected to be more user-friendly. The user interface and archery systems are also slated for upgrades, aligning with modern gaming trends.
MP1st speculates, based on the information they've gathered, that the project initially started as a simple remaster, as suggested by leaked Microsoft documents. However, it has since evolved into a full-fledged remake, promising a significantly more immersive and engaging experience for players.
The publication has also reached out to its sources, who have confirmed that the Oblivion remake will not be showcased at the upcoming Developer_Direct event. However, there are rumors circulating that we might not have to wait long for its release, with potential availability as early as this year.
