Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Suffers Yet Another Delay, This Time to October 2025
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release date to October 2025. This latest postponement, announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, marks a slight shift from the earlier target of the first half of 2025. Despite the delay, the development team assures fans that the game is complete and is now in the final stages of bug fixing, stability, and performance optimization.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer Marco Behrmann. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
While the delay may disappoint fans who have followed the game's tumultuous development journey, the update video also brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative, and improved character development. Notably, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline. However, fans should expect fewer updates moving forward, as confirmed by a post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
The history of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is marked by numerous delays and changes. Initially unveiled in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a planned launch in Q1 2020, the game faced its first delay to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. A significant shift occurred in 2023 when The Chinese Room took over from Hardsuit, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, the game is set to launch in October 2025.
Despite the extended development timeline, The Chinese Room remains optimistic about delivering a compelling sequel to the 2004 cult-classic video game. Looking ahead, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, a different team might take on the development of a potential Bloodlines 3.
