"Star Wars Outlaws: A Tribute to Hondo Ohnaka's Pirate Legacy"

Star Wars Outlaws received its first story expansion today with the launch of the A Pirate’s Fortune DLC on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—and fans owe it all to one clever scoundrel: Hondo Ohnaka.

According to Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, the DLC emerged from the team’s deep affection for Hondo Ohnaka, the Weequay pirate who previously appeared in the Darth Maul comics and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.

“We always knew—with so many passionate people on the team—that Hondo had to be part of this. And the idea of Kay’s rogue spirit blending with Hondo’s pirate charm? It just felt right,” Rechner told IGN.

The DLC introduces a new adventure to the main game, featuring the Rokana Raiders crime gang, the Miyuki Trade League—which can provide Kay with upgrades for her Trailblazer ship—and a new blaster ability called Shock.

Star Wars Outlaws is also set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, but Rechner declined to reveal whether the new platform will bring any exclusive features, though he confirmed more details are on the way.

“In terms of a specific feature set, that’s something we’ll dive into later. We’ve got more to share down the line.”

Some of the Nintendo Switch 2’s features the game could potentially use include mouse-compatible controllers and a new GameChat functionality.
