Tarot Cards: Unlocking Eerie Mysteries in Phasmophobia
Mastering the Tarot Cards in Phasmophobia: A Comprehensive Guide
Tarot Cards in Phasmophobia present a high-risk, high-reward proposition during ghost investigations. This guide details their usage.
Strategic Use of Tarot Cards
Due to the inherent risks, using Tarot Cards in a safe area (near a hiding spot or entrance) is advisable. This allows for a quicker escape if an unfavorable card, such as Death, is drawn.
Each card triggers an immediate effect. However, The Fool card (similar to a Joker) produces no effect. You can draw up to 10 cards without sanity loss, and duplicates retain their original effect.
Tarot Card Effects and Draw Probabilities
The game features 10 unique Tarot Cards:
Tarot Card | Effect | Draw Chance |
---|---|---|
The Tower | Doubles ghost activity for 20 seconds | 20% |
The Wheel of Fortune | 25% sanity gain (green flame); 25% sanity loss (red flame) | 20% |
The Hermit | Confines the ghost to its favorite room for 1 minute (excludes hunts/events) | 10% |
The Sun | Full sanity restoration (100%) | 5% |
The Moon | Complete sanity drain (0%) | 5% |
The Fool | Mimics another card before becoming The Fool; no effect | 17% |
The Devil | Triggers a ghost event for the nearest player | 10% |
Death | Initiates a prolonged Cursed Hunt (20 seconds longer) | 10% |
The High Priestess | Instant revival of a fallen teammate | 2% |
The Hanged Man | Instant death for the user | 1% |
Understanding Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia
Cursed Possessions (or Cursed Objects) are high-risk items that randomly appear in Phasmophobia contracts (depending on difficulty and game mode). Unlike standard equipment, they offer powerful ghost manipulation at the cost of significant player risk. The choice to use them is entirely strategic. Only one spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings), always in a fixed location. Seven Cursed Objects exist in the game: Haunted Mirror, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, Monkey Paw, and Summoning Circle.
