Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Launches Seamlessly

The English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is officially launching in just 10 days—and the developers have shared a detailed update on what players can expect from the global release. With several quality-of-life upgrades and strategic content pacing, this version aims to deliver a smoother and more engaging experience right from the start.

Features Available at Launch

From day one, the English version introduces two highly requested features: landscape mode during races and a built-in jukebox function—perfect for enjoying the game’s vibrant soundtrack anytime. Even better, the team is accelerating the rollout of improvements that took years to arrive in Japan. For example, the Guided Career feature—only added to the Japanese version on its fourth anniversary—will be available at launch. Cross-platform play is also confirmed, allowing seamless progress syncing between mobile and PC using a single account.

Faster Content Rollout Schedule

While all events and Scouts from the Japanese version will eventually make their way to the global release, the pacing will be significantly accelerated. Unlike the original version’s extended gaps between events, the English version will minimize downtime—keeping the momentum going without long breaks.

Each event and banner will still run for the same duration as in Japan, so there’s no need to rush through individual content. However, back-to-back scheduling means less time to accumulate in-game currency between limited-time banners. Players who prefer to enjoy the game without spending may find it more challenging to save up for premium Scouts. Additionally, the lack of “dead weeks” reduces opportunities to catch up on dailies and resource collection.

It remains to be seen how this aggressive schedule will impact long-term player retention and engagement. Unlike some global JRPG releases—such as Heavens Burn Red, which adjusted reward rates for international players—there has been no indication of similar adjustments for Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
