Stellar Blade Dev Comments On Potential PC Version

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port of the game. While the action-adventure title launched exclusively on PS5 due to its partnership with Sony, its impressive sales and critical acclaim (it was the top-selling game in the US in its launch month and boasts an 82 average OpenCritic rating) have fueled discussions about expanding its reach.

Following Stellar Blade's April release, Shift Up, during an IPO press conference reported by GameMeca (via VGC), stated that a PC port is under consideration. However, CEO and director Kim Hyung-Tae cited contractual obligations with Sony as the reason for the inability to provide a concrete timeline or confirmation. CFO Jae-woo Ahn added that the growing PC market share for AAA titles is a key factor in their evaluation, suggesting a PC release could significantly boost the IP's value.

Strong Likelihood of a PC Port

Shift Up's previous financial report already indicated consideration of both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade, given its success. The recent comments from the CEO and CFO further reinforce this interest. Considering Sony's established strategy of eventually bringing its exclusives to PC (with God of War: Ragnarok being the latest example), a PC release for Stellar Blade seems increasingly likely.

While the decision on a PC port is pending, Shift Up remains focused on optimizing the PS5 experience. A recent update unfortunately introduced some graphical glitches, but the developer has acknowledged these issues and promised a swift resolution.
