Star Wars Outlaws Launch Date Set for Nintendo Switch 2

Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, though it won't be a launch title. Instead of debuting alongside the new Nintendo handheld on June 5, fans will have to wait until September 4 to experience this space adventure on the Switch 2.

If you haven't yet explored Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5, Xbox, or PC, the game is set in the timeline between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our reviewer rated it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."

Ubisoft shared limited details beyond confirming the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, but this update is certainly noteworthy for the Switch 2 Games List. With American and Canadian gamers currently in pre-order limbo due to Nintendo's assessment of the impact of new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration, any news about upcoming Switch 2 games is a welcome distraction.

The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this add-on, Kay Vess teams up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is slated for release on May 15.
