Xbox's Multi-Platform Push Expands: Halo and Flight Simulator Rumored for PS5 and Switch 2

Reports from reputable industry insiders suggest a significant expansion of Microsoft's multi-platform strategy, potentially bringing major Xbox franchises to PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

According to NateTheHate, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on both PS5 and Switch 2 sometime in 2025. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to broaden the availability of its first-party titles, initially including Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves, with As Dusk Falls and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 subsequently joining the multi-platform lineup. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also expected on PS5 in Spring 2025.

This trend isn't limited to Halo. NateTheHate also indicated that Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently released MFS 2024, is also anticipated on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025.

Further bolstering these claims, Jez Corden, another established Microsoft leaker, tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be making their way to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025. Corden has consistently voiced his belief that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is drawing to a close.

The future multi-platform release of Call of Duty is also virtually guaranteed, following a ten-year agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo to bring the franchise to Nintendo consoles. The delay in Switch releases may be attributed to Microsoft awaiting the launch of the more powerful Switch 2, better equipped to handle the graphical demands of modern Call of Duty titles.
