YouTube personality Corey Pritchett, known for his family-friendly content on his channels "CoreySSG" (4 million subscribers) and "CoreySSG Live" (over 1 million subscribers), is facing serious legal trouble. He's been charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping stemming from an incident on November 24, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
According to reports, Pritchett met two women, aged 19 and 20, at a gym. After a day of activities, including ATV riding and bowling, Pritchett allegedly threatened them at gunpoint, driving them at high speeds on I-10 while confiscating their phones. He reportedly told the women he intended to kill them, expressing anxieties about being pursued and mentioning accusations of arson. After stopping the vehicle, he allegedly gave the women a chance to escape, leading to their eventual contact with authorities.
Pritchett's Flight and Mocking Video
Charged on December 26, 2024, Pritchett had already left the country. Authorities confirmed he flew to Doha, Qatar, on December 9th on a one-way ticket and is currently believed to be in Dubai. From there, he posted a video online, seemingly making light of the warrants and his situation, declaring himself "on the run." This contrasts with the serious nature of the allegations against him. The case's outcome is uncertain, and his return to the US to face the charges is currently unknown. This situation echoes other recent cases involving online personalities facing legal challenges, such as the unrelated case of former streamer Johnny Somali facing potential charges in South Korea. The incident also draws parallels to the 2023 kidnapping of YouTuber YourFellowArab in Haiti, who was eventually released and later documented his experience.
