Best Decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Understanding strong cards is crucial, but effective deck construction is paramount. Here are the top decks currently available in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

S-Tier Decks

Gyarados Ex/Greninja Combo

This deck utilizes a synergistic approach between Gyarados Ex and Greninja. The core includes: Froakie x2, Frogadier x2, Greninja x2, Druddigon x2, Magikarp x2, Gyarados Ex x2, Misty x2, Leaf x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2.

The strategy centers on using Druddigon (100 HP) as a defensive wall and consistent chip damage dealer without needing energy. Simultaneously, Greninja inflicts additional chip damage, serving as a primary attacker when necessary. Finally, Gyarados Ex delivers the knockout blow once sufficient damage has been accumulated.

Pikachu Ex

Currently the dominant deck, Pikachu Ex is characterized by its speed and aggressive playstyle. Key cards include: Pikachu Ex x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Blitzle x2, Zebstrika x2, Poké Ball x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2.

Pikachu Ex's consistent 90 damage output for only two Energy is exceptionally efficient. Adding Voltorb and Electrode provides further offensive options, with Electrode's free retreat being particularly valuable.

Raichu Surge

A slightly less consistent variant of the Pikachu Ex deck, Raichu Surge leverages the power of Raichu and Lt. Surge for surprising bursts of damage. The deck includes: Pikachu Ex x2, Pikachu x2, Raichu x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Lt. Surge x2.

Zapdos Ex offers reliable attacks, but the primary focus is on Pikachu Ex and Raichu, depending on card draws. While Raichu's energy discard can be a drawback, Lt. Surge mitigates this effectively. X Speed provides a quick retreat option.

A-Tier Decks

Celebi Ex and Serperior Combo

With the Mythical Island expansion, Grass-type decks have risen in prominence. This deck features Celebi Ex and Serperior, with cards like: Snivy x2, Servine x2, Serperior x2, Celebi Ex x2, Dhelmise x2, Erika x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2, X Speed x2, Potion x2, Sabrina x2.

The strategy revolves around quickly evolving Snivy into Serperior, utilizing its Jungle Totem ability to double Grass Pokémon energy counts. Combined with Celebi Ex's coin flips, this creates significant damage potential. Dhelmise provides a secondary attacking option. However, this deck is vulnerable to Fire-type decks, particularly Blaine/Rapidash/Ninetales combinations.

Koga Poison

This deck focuses on poisoning opponents and capitalizing on that weakness with Scolipede. The core includes: Venipede x2, Whirlipede x2, Scolipede x2, Koffing x2, Weezing x2, Tauros, Poké Ball x2, Koga x2, Sabrina, Leaf x2.

Weezing and Whirlipede inflict poison, while Koga facilitates Weezing's deployment. Leaf reduces retreat costs. Tauros serves as a powerful finisher against Ex decks, although it requires setup time. This deck excels against Mewtwo Ex decks.

Mewtwo Ex/Gardevoir Combo

This deck combines Mewtwo Ex and Gardevoir for a powerful offensive strategy. The deck list includes: Mewtwo Ex x2, Ralts x2, Kirlia x2, Gardevoir x2, Jynx x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2.

The goal is to rapidly evolve Ralts into Gardevoir, supporting Mewtwo Ex's Psydrive attack. Jynx acts as a stalling or early-game attacker.

B-Tier Decks

Charizard Ex

Charizard Ex is known for its high damage potential, but requires careful setup. The deck includes: Charmander x2, Charmeleon x2, Charizard Ex x2, Moltres Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2.

Moltres Ex aids in early-game energy accumulation for Charizard Ex's Inferno Dance. However, the deck's success relies heavily on favorable card draws.

Colorless Pidgeot

This deck utilizes basic Pokémon for consistent value. The deck includes: Pidgey x2, Pidgeotto x2, Pidgeot, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Red Card, Sabrina, Potion x2, Rattata x2, Raticate x2, Kangaskhan, Farfetch’d x2.

Rattata and Raticate provide early-game damage, while Pidgeot's ability forces opponent Pokémon switches, disrupting their strategy.

This tier list represents the current meta in Pokémon TCG Pocket. The meta is dynamic, so adjustments may be necessary as the game evolves.
