Nintendo Alarmo Japanese Release Postponed Despite Being Available Worldwide
Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Despite Global Availability
Nintendo has announced a delay in the Japanese retail launch of its Alarmo alarm clock due to insufficient stock. The planned February 2025 general release is postponed indefinitely. This delay is attributed to current production and inventory challenges. The impact on international availability, currently slated for a March 2025 launch, remains unclear.
In response, Nintendo Japan will offer a pre-order system exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order period begins mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced separately.
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring music from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with additional sounds promised via future updates. Its immediate popularity led to a halt in online orders and a lottery system for online purchases. Physical stock sold out rapidly in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.
Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general release will be provided soon.
