"Monster Hunter Wilds Sells 8 Million Copies in Just 3 Days, Capcom's Fastest Ever"
Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a remarkable milestone, selling over 8 million units within just three days of its release. This achievement makes it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date, despite the presence of some bugs at launch. Dive deeper into Capcom's success story and the latest updates for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds Is Now Capcom’s Fastest Selling Game
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has soared to the top as Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold in a mere three days since its release. Capcom proudly announced this achievement on their official website, marking it as a historic milestone for the company.
According to SteamDB, MH Wilds has enjoyed significant success since launch, reaching over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam, despite receiving mixed reviews. Capcom credits this success to their dedicated efforts in promoting the game to a wide audience. This included showcasing the game at various global video game events and conducting an open beta test, allowing players to experience the game firsthand before its official release.
Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug
In response to player feedback, Capcom has released a hotfix patch, Ver.1.000.04.00, on all platforms, as announced by Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, on Twitter (X) on March 4, 2025. This update tackled several bugs that were hindering player progress, including issues with the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not unlocking as expected, the Monster Field Guide being inaccessible, and a critical bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game to continue enjoying online play.
Despite these improvements, some bugs remain unaddressed, such as network errors when players use an SOS flare after starting a quest and Palico's blunt weapon attacks failing to inflict stun and exhaust damages. These multiplayer-related issues are expected to be resolved in future updates.
