Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post PSN Outage
Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at approximately 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and service was not restored until 24 hours later. In response, Sony provided an additional five days of service to all PlayStation Plus members. During this downtime, PlayStation users were unable to access online games and faced issues with single-player games that required server authentication or a constant internet connection.
The second beta session of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was highly anticipated, was scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9 but was cut short due to the PSN outage. In response, Capcom has extended the next session by 24 hours. The revised schedule now runs from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT (3am GMT on February 14) to Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT (2:59 am GMT on February 18). Players participating in this extended session will still be eligible to earn the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game, as confirmed by Capcom.
Despite the interruption, players managed to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' significant new challenge, the formidable monster known as Arkveld.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
