Avex Pictures has exciting news for fans of the beloved series Made in Abyss: they've announced a new mobile game titled Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey. This marks the first time the captivating story of Made in Abyss will be adapted into a mobile gaming format, following its successful run as a manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG for consoles and PCs.

The announcement came with the launch of the game's official X account, which will serve as a hub for updates and news as the release date approaches. While details on the gameplay are sparse, it's confirmed that the title will be a casual mobile game, available initially for Android and iOS users in Japan. Dive into the Abyss

For those unfamiliar with the series, Made in Abyss originated as a manga in 2012, crafted by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story revolves around Riko, an orphan from the town of Orth, which borders the enigmatic Abyss—a colossal vertical pit teeming with ancient relics, bizarre creatures, and an unsolved mystery that consumes those who dare to explore it. Riko's ambition is to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider lost to the Abyss.

On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a mysterious half-robot boy with no recollection of his origins. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware that their return is not guaranteed.

The manga's popularity led to its adaptation into an anime in 2017, followed by a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. In 2022, Chime Corporation expanded the franchise with a console and PC RPG, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
