Mesopotamia-Themed Adventure Game Debuts in May

Author : Andrew Feb 02,2025

Unravel the mystery of your father's disappearance in "My Father Lied," a captivating point-and-click adventure game launching May 30th!

Ahmed Alameen, a writer and filmmaker, presents his debut title: a narrative-driven puzzle game inspired by Mesopotamian history. Step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman who embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind her father's vanishing twenty years prior, a mystery further complicated by the revelation of a previously unknown sibling.

Alameen, initially collaborating on the project, took the reins after a team split, mastering game design to bring his vision to life. The gameplay involves classic point-and-click mechanics, challenging players to piece together images, decipher codes, and explore stunning, albeit uniquely rendered, environments. The game's aesthetic blends elements reminiscent of Myst, Heaven's Vault, and the chilling prose of H.P. Lovecraft.

Instead of fully modeling each environment, Alameen employed a blend of 2D and 360-degree imagery, even for the meticulously crafted, frame-by-frame cutscenes. This innovative approach ensures high-fidelity visuals accessible to a wide range of PC configurations.

"My Father Lied" will be available on May 30th for $10.99/€ on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam. Add it to your Steam wishlist now! Mobile pre-registration is not yet available. Follow Lunar Games on X, Discord, TikTok, or Instagram for updates. And don't miss the upcoming Kickstarter campaign!
