New Leaks Suggest Archon Quest Expansion in Genshin Impact 5.4
Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated return to Genshin Impact's Event Banners in Version 5.4, over a year after his initial debut. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns about the game's character rerun scheduling, a challenge exacerbated by the ever-growing roster of over 90 playable characters and limited banner slots. With an average of one new 5-star character per patch, the current system struggles to provide equitable rerun opportunities for all limited 5-star characters.
While the introduction of the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. The extended wait time for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) highlights the system's limitations. Until the implementation of triple banners, longer wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for a chance to obtain him. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests this will change with Version 5.4. His popularity is further bolstered by recent Spiral Abyss adjustments that benefit his playstyle.
Wriothesley's Potential Return in Version 5.4
It's crucial to approach this leak with caution, as Flying Flame's track record is inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate. However, the recent Spiral Abyss changes supporting Wriothesley's gameplay add credence to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on the Event Banners, the remaining slot(s) might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's expected launch date is February 12, 2025.
