Lara Croft: Guardian of Light Now Available on iOS and Android
During what we might tentatively call Lara Croft's dark ages, when the series went into a period of hibernation, one of the standout attempts to reinvent it came in the form of the unique twin-stick shooter, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Originally released in 2010, this game is now available for you to relive the nostalgia on your Android and iOS devices!
The plot of Lara Croft: Guardian of Light follows the iconic tomb raider as she teams up with the immortal Mayan warrior Totec to prevent the release of an ancient evil. As you'd expect, this game supports both local and online multiplayer, making it a perfect co-op experience brought to you by Feral Interactive.
While the game leans heavily into action, it also offers a rich variety of puzzles. From classic parkour challenges to more cerebral, trap-laden puzzles, you'll find plenty of opportunities to stretch your brain cells between bouts of shooting. Coupled with the chance to explore diverse environments ranging from toxic swamps to endless tombs and volcanic caverns, the game offers much more than just action-packed gameplay.
Ever since their successful porting of the acclaimed Alien: Isolation, Feral Interactive has set the gold standard for mobile adaptations of popular releases. Even their somewhat controversial remaster of Total War: Rome managed to impress in terms of mechanics, proving that when tinkering with a classic, it's nearly impossible to satisfy everyone.
