Final Fantasy 14 will implement changes to the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid reward system in Patch 7.16 following community input. Starting January 21, players can convert their extra Clouddark Demimateria 1 into the more valuable Clouddark Demimateria 2.

Enhanced Reward Accessibility

The latest adjustment allows a direct exchange of Clouddark Demimateria, giving players better access to coveted rewards including:

• The Dais of Darkness mount (75 Clouddark Demimateria 2)
• A Half Times Two hairstyle (49 Clouddark Demimateria 2)

Raid Challenge Background

The Chaotic Alliance Raid, introduced December 24, features an upgraded version of the original Cloud of Darkness battle from A Realm Reborn, now incorporating mechanics from Shadowbringers' Eden raid series. Successful clears reward both types of Demimateria, with bonus quantities of Clouddark Demimateria 2 awarded based on first-time participants.

Market Impact and Future Adjustments

With both premium rewards being tradeable on the market board, Patch 7.16's exchange system may significantly influence their pricing. Square Enix emphasized these changes reflect their commitment to player-driven improvements, noting potential future refinements based on ongoing feedback.
