Dune: Awakening Devs Address PvP, Desert Problems in Peak Surge

Dune: Awakening developer Funcom has acknowledged that it's "working on" resolving various player concerns in the Deep Desert, including adjustments to respawn timers.

While Funcom previously confirmed an upcoming fix for players frustrated by helicopter attacks in PvP — which remains a significant issue — chief creative officer Joel Bylos appeared in the comments section of a Reddit post to reassure the community that the team is actively working on solutions.

"We are implementing several changes and fixes for these issues. Thank you for your patience," Bylos stated.

Bylos was responding to a post by Reddit user rustypipe7889, who detailed their concerns with Dune: Awakening's PvP mechanics and the Deep Desert experience. A primary complaint involves the instant respawn timer in PvP zones ("even after winning a prolonged battle, the defeated team immediately respawns in the vicinity").

Meanwhile, other players have reported different endgame issues in Dune: Awakening, though Bylos has not yet directly addressed these specific complaints. "The end game is completely disorganized," expressed Redditor Darqsat.

"The Deep Desert offers no appealing content for PvE players, so it's typically empty except for extremely dedicated PvP enthusiasts. Officially, PvE content concludes at T5 with Duraluminium. Players either experiment with different builds, focus on base construction, or simply stop playing. Nothing encourages them to explore the desert further — no legendary story quests, no exclusive PvE items like vehicle components or base parts, absolutely nothing."

These endgame criticisms emerge as the survival MMO achieved a new peak of 189,333 concurrent players over the weekend.
