The Yellow Orb is located in Merchantburg, a town initially represented as "???" on the map. Its name is determined by the merchant you hire and leave there. You must establish and develop this village to obtain the orb.

Locating Merchantburg (???)

After obtaining the ship from the King of Portoga (following the Black Pepper quest), sail to the northeast corner of the map to find Merchantburg. The quest marker will be visible if enabled.

Optimal Timing for Visiting Merchantburg

While orb collection order is flexible, visiting Merchantburg early is recommended. The town requires significant growth time before the Yellow Orb becomes available. Establishing it early allows you to collect other orbs concurrently.

Acquiring the Yellow Orb

1. Establish Merchantburg: Hire a merchant from PALS in Aliahan. Travel directly to Merchantburg to minimize combat.

2. Meet the Old Man: Enter the building in Merchantburg and speak to the old man. Offer your newly hired merchant to establish the town. The town's name will then be set.

3. Returning to Merchantburg (Multiple Visits): After establishing Merchantburg, continue to collect the Purple Orb (Orochi's Lair) and the Blue Orb (Gaia's Navel). You'll receive notifications prompting return visits to Merchantburg.

4. Town Growth: Merchantburg will progress through five growth stages. Each visit will reveal a larger town, culminating in a cabaret's construction. On your fourth visit, you'll notice the merchant becoming unpopular.

5. The Revolt: On your fifth and final visit (at night), you'll find the merchant imprisoned following a town revolt. Speak to him to learn the Yellow Orb's location.

6. Retrieve the Yellow Orb: Return to the merchant's house. A quest marker will appear behind the sofa. Interact with the ground to obtain the Yellow Orb.

The Yellow Orb is typically the penultimate orb acquired. The Red Orb (Pirate's Den), Green Orb (Theddon), and Silver Orb (Maw of the Necrogond/Necrogond Shrine) are found elsewhere.
