Crunchyroll Releases Crypt Of The NecroDancer on Android

The anime streaming giant Crunchyroll has just released the cult-classic game Crypt of the NecroDancer on Android. Now titled 'Crunchyroll: NecroDancer,' this beat-driven adventure is a roguelike rhythm game that you can enjoy on your mobile device. Developed by Brace Yourself Games, the game initially launched on PC in April 2015 and had brief stints on iOS in 2016 and Android in 2021. Thanks to Crunchyroll, it's now available again on both iOS and Android, packed with a wealth of new content.

What’s Crypt of the NecroDancer About?

In Crypt of the NecroDancer, you step into the shoes of Cadence, a rhythm-challenged daughter of a missing treasure hunter, navigating a spooky, rhythm-infused crypt. As a roguelike game, each run offers a unique experience. With 15 playable characters, each boasting distinct play styles and challenges, you'll move and groove to the beat of Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack. The game challenges you to dodge enemies and collect loot while dancing through procedurally generated dungeons. Every move and attack must be in sync with the music; miss a beat, and you're out. You'll encounter groovy adversaries like dancing skeletons and hip-hop-loving dragons. Check out the official trailer below to see them in action!

This Isn’t Just A Basic Port

Crunchyroll and the developers have enhanced Crypt of the NecroDancer for mobile with remixes, new content, and quirky Danganronpa character skins, catering to anime crossover enthusiasts. The game also features cross-platform multiplayer and mod support. If you're a fan of Hatsune Miku, stay tuned for the upcoming DLC featuring the popular virtual pop star and the Synchrony expansion later this year. With a Crunchyroll subscription, you can dive into this rhythm roguelike immediately. Check it out on the Google Play Store.
