Abyss of Dungeons: Dark and Darker Mobile's New Name Revealed

Krafton has officially rebranded Dark and Darker Mobile to Abyss of Dungeons as a strategic move to distance itself from the ongoing legal issues faced by Ironmace Studios. Ironmace has been entangled in a lawsuit with Nexon, which claims that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, misused trade secrets to develop Dark and Darker. This legal battle continues, prompting the name change that was first speculated back in February.

No DifferenceThe transition to Abyss of Dungeons primarily affects the title and possibly some Dungeons & Dragons-specific elements, while leaving the core gameplay mechanics intact. Fans can rest assured that the shift to a third-person perspective and other modifications, already distinct from the original game, will remain unchanged.

Although this rebranding might disappoint some Ironmace supporters, the hope is that the legal conflicts will resolve soon, allowing fans to enjoy Abyss of Dungeons alongside the PC version of Dark and Darker. An upcoming soft launch is scheduled for June 11th in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico.
