Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic will launch the seventh and final phase of Season of Discovery on January 28. This exciting update will bring the new Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the thrilling Scourge Invasions event to the game. Just over a week later, on February 6, World of Warcraft Classic guilds can tackle the iconic Naxxramas raid, which promises to deliver fresh challenges and twists for players to conquer.

Phase 7 of Season of Discovery arrives a mere two months after Phase 6, which took players back to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. As raid teams battled through Ahn'qiraj to defeat threats like the Old God C'thun, many reported sightings of a mysterious Shadowy Figure throughout the desert ruins. Though speculations arose that this figure might be Xal'atath, the main antagonist of World of Warcraft: The War Within, the NPC only offered cryptic comments about the Old Gods in Phase 6. It remains to be seen whether the Shadowy Figure will make a final appearance in Phase 7.

While Phase 7 marks the end of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players can look forward to new challenges. Scheduled to go live on Tuesday, January 28, following server maintenance, Phase 7 will allow teams to explore the new Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon in Deadwind Pass. This dungeon delves beneath the renowned tower of Karazhan, which later became a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade. Alongside this, the Scourge Invasion event will see hordes of undead monsters swarm various zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can also engage in new Scourge Invasion quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands, collecting Necrotic Runes from undead enemies to purchase new consumable items.
