Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics
An insider known as fraxiswinning has leaked exciting news about Ubisoft's plans for Rainbow Six Siege 2. According to the leak, Ubisoft is set to unveil the sequel during the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to take place at MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, codenamed Siege X, is said to run on an updated engine, promising enhanced graphics with revamped textures and models. In a shift from the original game, Ubisoft might not bring back the old temporary events, focusing instead on introducing fresh content. The anticipated release date for Rainbow Six Siege 2 is during the second season of the tenth year of support, roughly mid-2025.
This news comes as a surprise, especially after Rainbow Six Siege's creative director, Alexander Karpazis, stated that a full-fledged sequel wasn't necessary due to the continuous development of the current game. However, if this leak holds true, it seems Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance.
It's important to approach such rumors with caution. Until Ubisoft officially confirms these details, everything remains speculative.
The Six Invitational 2025, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is right around the corner. Set in Boston, this event will see twenty teams vying for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having won the North American Last Chance Qualifier, are the last team to secure their spot in the competition.
The format for this tournament might follow the pattern of last year, with four groups engaging in a round-robin style among five teams each, followed by a Double Elimination playoff. The first-place team in each group would skip the first round, the fourth-place team would start in the lower bracket, while the rest would enter the playoffs in the upper bracket. The last place in each group faces elimination. However, Ubisoft could surprise us with a new format this year.
