"MobLand Starring Tom Hardy Gets Season 2 Renewal"
Craving more of Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan's gripping crime saga? Hungry for another dose of Helen Mirren's commanding presence? Good news—Paramount+ has officially greenlit MobLand for Season 2.
The streamer reports 26 million viewers since its March 30 debut, making renewal an obvious choice given its stellar cast. MobLand currently ranks as Paramount+'s second most-watched original series.
The powerhouse ensemble includes Hardy, Brosnan, Mirren, House of the Dragon's Paddy Considine, and Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt. The show centers on Hardy's character Harry Da Souza, a problem-solver for Brosnan's crime patriarch Conrad Harrigan. Its official synopsis describes "two generations of gangsters, their enterprises, complex alliances, and the man they trust to clean up their messes."

"MobLand's staggering 26-million viewership speaks volumes about the creative vision of producers Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, and David C. Glasser," said Chris McCarthy, Paramount co-CEO and Showtime/MTV Entertainment president. "Tom, Pierce, and Helen's electrifying performances have propelled this global sensation to top charts internationally, especially in the UK. We're thrilled to continue this phenomenon."
Season 1 maintains a strong 75% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and remains available for streaming, though Season 2's premiere date remains unannounced.
During May's promotional tour, Hardy reflected on how physically demanding roles in Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises have impacted his health approaching 50.
"Two knee surgeries later, with a herniated disc, sciatica flare-ups, and now plantar fasciitis?" the 47-year-old mused. "Why the hip tendon injury too? My body's crumbling—and recovery isn't getting easier."
