Embark on the "For Science!" Side Quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Stalker 2's open world, The Zone, is teeming with NPCs, many leading to intriguing quests. One such quest, "For Science!", unfolds after encountering Yaryk Mongoose. This side mission involves activating a second measuring device atop a silo, granting access to the STC Malachite facility upon completion.

Initiating the "For Science!" Quest

The quest begins at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant. Approaching this location triggers a radio conversation between Mongoose and Skif. Locate Mongoose on the first floor of the building (easily reached by vaulting a railing). He'll explain the need to activate a second device atop a nearby silo. Agreeing to his request starts the mission.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Ascend the building's stairs, dispatching any rodents along the way. A room with broken windows provides access to an exterior walkway and ladder leading to the silos. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed along the silo's top to activate the second measuring device.

The Bloodsucker Encounter

Activating the device attracts a pack of Bloodsuckers. Choose to fight or evade them to reach Mongoose.

Confronting Mongoose

Upon reaching Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences. You can choose to kill him or accept his reward (Malachite pass and coupons). The choice has no significant impact on the game's progression. However, sparing Mongoose is recommended to obtain the pass peacefully.

Accessing STC Malachite

The Malachite pass now grants access to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible through main missions. Enjoy exploring this new area!
