Deadlock Introduces Six Experimental Heroes in Latest Update

New Heroes, Changed Names, and Reused Skills for the Roster

Valve's highly anticipated MOBA shooter, Deadlock, launched in mid-2024 and has consistently ranked as Steam’s Most Wishlisted game. While weekly updates have maintained player engagement, the "10-24-2024" patch marks a major milestone by introducing six new heroes for players to explore.

The newly added characters—Calico, Fathom (formerly Slork), Holliday (referred to as Astro in skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are currently exclusive to the Hero Sandbox mode. They are not yet available in casual or ranked PvP matches. Although their kits have been implemented, some abilities remain placeholder duplicates; for instance, Magician’s ultimate ability is currently identical to Paradox’s Paradoxical Swap.

Review the table below to get an early look at each character's role and playstyle on the battlefield!

CalicoAn agile, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero built to strike from hiding while remaining elusive.
