Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current-generation console and launch directly on the next-generation. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and the original Nintendo Switch, Silksong's scope expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as confirmed by developer Team Cherry years later.

To address fans' concerns about the game's platform availability, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) on April 8. Griffin reassured the community that Silksong is set to release on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

While official details on how these versions will differ remain under wraps, players can anticipate that Silksong on the Switch 2 will leverage the console's enhanced capabilities for a higher resolution experience.
