Ryan Gosling Headlines New 'Star Wars: Starfighter' Film, Set for May 2027 Release

Lucasfilm has unveiled Star Wars: Starfighter, a fresh cinematic venture directed by Shawn Levy of Deadpool & Wolverine fame, featuring Ryan Gosling. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 28, 2027, and is set five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The announcement came during Star Wars Celebration, with production confirmed to start this fall.

Little is known about Star Wars: Starfighter beyond Gosling portraying a new character, but it’s already shaping up as a must-see for Star Wars fans planning their Memorial Day 2027.

In a touching reveal, Gosling shared that his mother sent him a nostalgic photo of his childhood Star Wars bedsheets upon landing the role.
