Riot Games' MMO: Far from Finished
Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, where co-founder Marc Merrill shared exciting updates in a post-event discussion with Stephen Totilo. One of Merrill's primary aspirations is to launch a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set in the expansive universe of League of Legends and Arcane. This ambitious project consumes a significant portion of his time, reflecting his deep passion for the MMO genre. He believes this dedication, combined with the enthusiasm of League of Legends fans who yearn to dive deeper into their beloved universe, positions the game for potential success.
While Merrill did not disclose specific details about the MMO, such as a release date, he humorously remarked that he hopes it will be available before humans set foot on Mars. The timeline for this remains uncertain, adding an element of anticipation and intrigue to the project.
In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another title within the League of Legends universe called 2XKO. This eagerly awaited fighting game has already generated buzz with its released trailers and a confirmed release window, expected before the end of the year. Fans are eagerly counting down the days until they can experience this new addition to the franchise.
