Relic Entertainment Unveils Earth vs. Mars Game
Relic Entertainment, renowned for their work on Company of Heroes, is venturing into new territory with their upcoming turn-based strategy game, Earth vs. Mars. Set to launch this Summer on PC through Steam, the game promises an engaging experience inspired by the classic Nintendo DS title, Advance Wars. In Earth vs. Mars, players take on the role of Earth's defenders against a full-scale Martian invasion, employing unique tactics by creating "bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids" using the innovative Splice-O-Tron. Examples of these hybrids include the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly, each bringing unique abilities to the battlefield.
The game's narrative unfolds with the revelation that Martians have been secretly visiting Earth for decades, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, with their return and a full-scale invasion underway, it falls upon a ragtag group of commanders to lead Earth's resistance. Players will strategize and command Earth's military forces against advanced Martian technology, including high-tech saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors, in a desperate bid for survival.

Earth vs. Mars boasts a comprehensive 30+ mission single-player campaign, ensuring hours of immersive gameplay. Additionally, players can engage in online multiplayer, choosing to fight as either Earth or Mars, test their skills in a VS Mode against the game's AI, and even create custom battlefields with the included map editor.
Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles.” He also highlighted the company's new strategy, which includes continuing to develop traditional RTS titles alongside smaller, indie-style games to explore new sub-genres, fuel creativity, and release games more frequently.
For those eager to dive into this unique blend of strategy and creativity, Earth vs. Mars is now available for wishlisting on Steam.
