Ranking the Jedi Who Survived Order 66

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the final Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney seven years later.

Fans anticipated that in Revenge of the Sith, they would witness Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A pivotal question remained: what happened to the other Jedi? The film answered this with Order 66, a sinister element of Palpatine's scheme where Clone Troopers, who had previously fought alongside the Jedi during the Clone Wars, turned against them, executing them on command. Given the thousands of Jedi in service at the time, it was logical to assume some would escape Palpatine's grasp—beyond the few we knew would survive because they appeared in the Original Trilogy.

Among the few dozen Order 66 survivors introduced in canon Star Wars narratives, we've ranked the top 10 who've left a significant mark. Some of these survivors lived only a short while longer, while others endured much further into the timeline. In some cases, their ultimate fate remains a mystery. Regardless, all these Jedi lived to fight another day after Palpatine's chilling command, "Execute Order 66."

The criteria for this list are clear: the characters had to have been under the jurisdiction of the Jedi Order before Order 66, whether as Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. This excludes Force-users like Maul and his former Master, Palpatine, as well as young Force wielders like Jod Na Nawood, who never officially joined the Jedi Order or visited the Jedi Temple, despite receiving some training.

A notable case is Asajj Ventress, who trained with Jedi Ky Narec on Rattatak for over 20 years. Narec considered her his Padawan, yet Ventress never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council during this period. Her subsequent turn to the Dark Side under Dooku complicates her status. Hence, she is an honorable mention.
