Past Successes and Future Projects:

PlayStation Productions Past Adaptations

PlayStation Productions’ history of video game adaptations dates back further than its 2019 founding. While earlier adaptations like Resident Evil and Silent Hill had mixed reception among fans, Uncharted (2022) and Gran Turismo (2023) proved successful at the box office. The Twisted Metal series (2023) on Peacock, while less critically acclaimed than The Last of Us, completed production of its second season in late 2024 (release date pending).

PlayStation Productions Past Adaptations

Beyond the CES announcements, PlayStation Productions continues work on films based on Days Gone and a sequel to Uncharted, along with a God of War television series.

The success of recent adaptations suggests that more PlayStation franchises are likely to receive similar treatment in the future, driven by both fan demand and the proven viability of video game-based films and television shows.
