People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a significant deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This agreement marks the studio's commitment to crafting a new game, codenamed Project Delta, as a work-for-hire project. While the specifics of Project Delta remain under wraps, the partnership with Sony signals an exciting new venture for the studio.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling an impressive lineup of projects, each bearing cryptic codenames. Among these, Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, faced setbacks last year with the layoff of 30 developers. Another project, Project Echo, is underway with Krafton, while Project Red also appears to be linked with Sony. Just yesterday, the studio announced that Project Bison would be its final venture into VR gaming.

The studio's portfolio saw some adjustments last December when it decided to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, People Can Fly also announced the cancellation of Project Dagger, an action-adventure title that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these shifts, People Can Fly remains robustly active with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the much-awaited Gears of War: E-Day, crafted in partnership with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has yet to be disclosed, Project Gemini, in collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
