Marvel Seeks Reunion of The Defenders
The anticipation is building for the next season of *Daredevil*, and it seems the creators are already planning ahead, with whispers of a possible *Defenders* reunion on the horizon. In an extensive feature on Entertainment Weekly (EW), Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming and TV, shared his enthusiasm for bringing together the street-level heroes—Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—once again.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, Winderbaum hinted at the potential, stating, “It’s certainly exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We’re dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television.” He further emphasized the creative excitement and ongoing exploration of this idea, despite the logistical challenges involved.
*Daredevil: Born Again* is set to continue the story that began on Netflix, serving as a direct sequel. Netflix previously hosted its own Marvel universe, albeit on a smaller scale, with series such as *Jessica Jones*, *Iron Fist*, and *Luke Cage*. Winderbaum's comments suggest that *Daredevil: Born Again* could serve as a springboard to bring these beloved characters back to life on Disney Plus, tailored to Disney's vision. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the new season is a testament to this transition from Netflix to Disney Plus.
As fans eagerly await the premiere of *Daredevil: Born Again* on March 4, the potential for these characters to weave into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) remains a thrilling prospect to watch unfold.
