LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

LEGO has officially unveiled nine exciting new Star Wars sets, all set to debut on May 1, 2025. This release aligns with Disney’s broader celebration of May the 4th, widely recognized as Star Wars Day. As part of this tradition, LEGO often introduces a new addition to its highly regarded Ultimate Collector Series starships. In 2023, fans welcomed Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024.

This year, the spotlight is on Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, a model famously known among long-time Star Wars enthusiasts as Slave I (view it on the LEGO Store). The name change, which originated in 2021, was made at Disney’s request (confirmed by LEGO)—likely due to the brand's sensitivity around the word “slave.” Four years later, the revised name appears to be permanent.

The last major version of this iconic ship was released back in 2019 as part of a 20th-anniversary edition featuring 1,007 pieces and modeled after its appearance in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. The newly announced set, however, boasts an impressive 2,970 pieces and recreates the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. At nearly three times the piece count of its earlier counterpart, this build offers a more detailed experience. Once assembled, the model stands 7.5 inches high, stretches 17.5 inches in length, and spans 15.5 inches wide.
