LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has announced its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that measures over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for all other customers.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
Designed for adults, this 3,145-piece set is meant for display and includes advanced building techniques that may challenge younger builders. The scale of the set is truly remarkable, with the minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler providing a sense of proportion. The T-rex skeleton's skull closely resembles the already available LEGO T-rex skull, which my son assembled and found to be visually stunning. However, the full skeleton adds a dramatic flair to the upcoming set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. Like many LEGO movie-themed sets, this one includes hidden Easter eggs that add to the building experience. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the range in the future.
