To begin this side quest, you must first complete either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek or Olbram. Once you've completed one of these, the Battle of the Frogs and Mice quest will become available. Initiate the quest by speaking to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov, and then head to the pasture to proceed.

Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?

During the quest, you'll need to decide whether to support Prochek or Olbram. To side with Prochek, talk to him in Tachov and choose the option, "Let’s get those Zhelejovites!" To side with Olbram, speak to him in Zhelejov and select, "Let’s go and see those Tachovites!"

Attempting to reconcile them during their talks at the pasture will only escalate the situation prematurely. If you can pass a dialogue check during the negotiations, an enemy will flee, simplifying the fight. Winning the battle for either side grants you groschen.

How to Stop the Feud

For a more harmonious outcome, before heading to the pasture, ask Prochek or Olbram if they wish to end the feud. Then, travel to Troskowitz and speak with Baliff Thrush, selecting the dialogue option, "You’d finally have some peace."

You'll need to pass a dialogue check to gain access to the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe's room. If you fail to persuade Baliff Thrush, you can sneak in, but remember to save your game beforehand.

Once inside, speak with the scribe and choose, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."

Next, go to the pasture and locate three oak trees aligned together. Examine the middle tree to find a nail. Your choices with the nail are:

• Leaving it in the middle tree will divide the pasture equally between Tachov and Zhelejov.
• Placing it in the west tree will allocate more land to Tachov.
• Inserting it in the east tree will grant more land to Zhelejov.

Your decision on the nail's placement is not critical, so choose according to your preference or remain neutral. After deciding, speak with Baliff Thrush again, who will agree to end the feud. Then, bring Prochek or Olbram to the pasture to finalize the resolution.
