Inferno Dragon Receives Evolution Card in Clash Royale After Nine Years

Clash Royale has finally stepped up to the plate and given the Inferno Dragon the spotlight it's long deserved. After years of loyal service soaring through the skies without an Evolution upgrade, this legendary fire-breathing unit is getting a powerful new form. And to celebrate this epic transformation, Supercell joined forces with Finnish comedian Ismo Leikola for a hilariously unforgettable promotional experience.

It Was a Tough Negotiation

Nine years have passed since the Inferno Dragon first entered the Clash Royale battlefield. Now, in a dramatic turn of events, he’s ready to evolve—and he didn’t come alone. In the official launch trailer, Ismo Leikola takes on the role of the Inferno Dragon’s Hollywood-style agent, negotiating some very specific demands on behalf of his scaly client.

In a mock corporate meeting at Supercell’s office, the Inferno Dragon makes a bold statement—threatening to leave Clash Royale behind for a life in the bright lights of Hollywood. The over-the-top negotiation is as entertaining as it is unexpected, blending humor with the excitement surrounding the card’s evolution.

Inferno Dragon Evolution: What It Changes

The Evolution form of the Inferno Dragon introduces a major gameplay shift. Unlike its original version—which resets damage when switching targets—the evolved form maintains its rising damage output even when changing foes. This change significantly boosts its effectiveness in battle, making it a more consistent and dangerous threat across various match-ups.

Welcome to the New Season: How to Evolve Your Dragon!

This latest season of Clash Royale is themed around Evolution, and the Inferno Dragon is taking center stage. Alongside its introduction, the 2v2 League is back—offering players the chance to team up with a friend or random partner for competitive ladder play.

Milestone Events are also returning, starting from Arena 7. These events offer valuable rewards such as Lumberjack Evolution Shards, Epic Book of Cards, and exclusive cosmetic items.

• Crown Chase #1: Rewards include a Battle Banner (with frame and decoration) and an Epic Book of Cards.
• Crown Chase #2: Offers another Battle Banner along with 3 Evolution Shards.

Test Your Skills with Special Game Modes

To help players get hands-on experience with Evolution cards, the development team has lined up a series of limited-time modes and challenges throughout June and into early July:

• Inferno Dragon Evolution Draft: June 2nd – 9th
• Inferno Dragon Challenge: June 6th – 9th (Rewards: Battle Banner & Emote)
• Evolution Mayhem: June 9th – 16th (Use up to 4 Evolution Cards per deck)
• Magical Trio: June 16th – 23rd
• 4 Card Showdown: June 23rd – 30th
• Evolution Bonanza: June 30th – July 7th (Up to 8 Evolution Cards allowed per deck)

These game modes are designed to keep the meta fresh and give players multiple opportunities to test out and master their Evolution strategies.
