Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Protects Canine CompanionsMachineGames, the studio behind the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has confirmed a heartwarming policy: no dogs will be harmed in the game. This decision, and other game details, are explored below.

A Dog-Friendly Adventure

Indy's a Dog Lover!

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Shows Compassion for CaninesWhile many games feature violence against animals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes a different approach. Creative Director Jens Andersson told IGN, "Indiana Jones is a dog person." This commitment to animal welfare means that while Indy will engage in combat with human foes, his interactions with dogs will be entirely non-lethal. This marks a significant departure from MachineGames' previous work, such as Wolfenstein, where animal combat was commonplace.

Andersson explained, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways," adding, "We have dogs as enemies, but you don’t really hurt the dogs. You scare them away."

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: A Whimsical JourneyLaunching December 9th on Xbox Series X|S and PC (with a tentative PS5 release in Spring 2025), Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Indy's quest begins with the pursuit of artifacts stolen from Marshall College, leading him on a globe-trotting adventure from the Vatican to Egyptian pyramids and the submerged temples of Sukhothai.

Indy's trusty whip will be used for both traversal and combat, allowing him to disarm and subdue human opponents as he navigates the open-world-inspired environments. But rest assured, dog lovers: Indy's whip will remain a canine-safe weapon in this adventure.
