Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and many other titles, was discovered "barely alive" in his hotel room last week. His family is reaching out to fans for support during this challenging time.

According to PC Gamer, Johnson's wife, Kim, along with other family members, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses and support the family while he is unable to work. The campaign's page poignantly states, "Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit."

Johnson had volunteered to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta on January 22. After flying down and checking into his hotel, concerns arose when he failed to appear at the event. His wife Kim made frantic attempts to contact him, leading to hotel security discovering him unconscious and barely alive in his room. Emergency medical technicians struggled to find a pulse upon their arrival.

The GoFundMe campaign, which aimed to raise $50,000, has surpassed expectations, amassing over $144,791 from more than 2,200 supporters. In addition to his extensive work in video games, Johnson has been the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and has appeared in numerous film and television roles.

Johnson's contributions to video games are primarily in Bethesda titles. His recent role was as Ron Hope in Starfield. He has also voiced memorable characters such as Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others.
