The video delves into the holiday's origins, weaving together Dwarven myths of Greatfather Winter (a Titan-forged giant), Tauren traditions of spiritual renewal, and the modern-day commercialization by the Goblin-run Smokeywood Pastures – a humorous parallel to real-world Christmas traditions.

A Look Back at Winter Veil History

No Winter Veil recap is complete without mentioning Metzen the Reindeer, named after former Blizzard executive Chris Metzen. This unfortunate reindeer boasts a history of three memorable kidnappings: by pirates and Dark Iron dwarves in Classic WoW, and later by the Grinch in the modern game.
