Star Wars Celebration has unveiled thrilling updates for fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of their favorite galaxy far, far away. The latest news centers around a captivating update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, which will integrate elements from the upcoming movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu. This update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, promises an immersive experience that diverges from the movie's plot but keeps the beloved characters, Din Djarin and Grogu, at the heart of the action.

In this new storyline, players will embark on a choose-your-own-adventure journey, navigating through iconic planets like Tatooine, Bespin, Endor, and the newly added Coruscant. The narrative kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a clandestine deal on Tatooine between former Imperial officers and pirates. This sets the stage for an exhilarating chase across the galaxy, where guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue a high-stakes bounty.

One of the most exciting aspects of this update is the enhanced role of the Engineer. In this new mission, Engineers will have the unique responsibility of caring for Grogu, adding a layer of interaction and engagement to the experience. Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama shared insights into what players can expect, highlighting the interactive elements between Engineers and Grogu.

"Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "So, we think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. So, we love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."

The choose-your-own-adventure format adds an element of urgency and decision-making to the experience. Kalama elaborated on this feature, stating, "There will be a sort of critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to."

For those eager to dive deeper into the Star Wars universe, Star Wars Celebration offered a wealth of information. From insights into The Mandalorian & Grogu's Sigourney Weaver's heartwarming connection with Grogu, to Hayden Christensen's reflections on reprising his role as Anakin, and updates from the Ahsoka and Andor panels, there's no shortage of exciting news for fans to explore.
