Your journey begins in the bustling city of Osaka, located in the central part of Izumi Settsu. Here, you'll encounter a woman in the heart of the town who speaks of a game involving the hunt for origami butterflies. As you ride around the city, you'll find these large paper butterflies pinned to tree trunks, surrounded by real butterflies. Collecting them leads you to discover disturbing notes, revealing the Butterfly Collector's true nature: a sinister group of women intent on kidnapping children from wealthy families to gain power and influence.

This is a mission you cannot ignore. The Butterfly Collector faction consists of five members, each with their own story and location within the game.

Shucho

Shucho's carelessness has led to the loss of her kidnapped child somewhere in the Fishermen’s District, at the southeastern tip of Osaka. You'll find her dressed in green, frantically searching at an intersection. Use Naoe's blade or Yasuke's brute force to take her down, then rescue the child hiding behind nearby horses.

Mucho

After dealing with Shucho, head northwest across the bridge to the Kojo ruins. Mucho, disguised as a family jochu, is struggling with her current victim on the road just south of the ruins. Use the child's resistance to your advantage, and when Mucho attacks, end her threat. Escort the child back to her mother, then continue your hunt.

Richo

Richo, a young woman who pretends to be of higher standing, can be found at the northern end of Osaka, in Noda Village across the water. Locals might mention a suspicious woman frequenting a bamboo grove, where Richo checks on ransom payments. Head to the grove, find her dressed in pink, and decide whether to take her down stealthily or in combat. Rescue the child she has hidden away.

Kacho

After defeating the previous three members, you'll face Kacho, the feared leader of the Butterfly Collector. She's located just north of Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Approach carefully, and when you see a flurry of butterflies, you're close. Engage her in conversation, then prepare for a deadly fight. Kacho will not reveal her true identity, and you'll have to end her reign of terror.

Gamemaker

Finally, return to the Gamemaker, the one who initiated the butterfly hunt. She's a former victim who devised the game in hopes of exposing the Butterfly Collector and saving others. You have a choice to make: punish her for her involvement or allow her a chance at redemption. Opting for the latter lets her start anew with a new name and life.
