"Digimon Alysion: A Story Mode Rival to Pokemon TCG Pocket"

Author : Hannah Jul 08,2025

Digimon’s latest mobile project, Digimon Alysion, was officially unveiled during the DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream on March 20. This new digital trading card game aims to bring the beloved Digimon franchise into the expanding world of mobile TCGs, following the success of titles like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap.

What Is Digimon Alysion?

Digimon Alysion is a free-to-play mobile trading card game that allows players to collect, build, and battle with decks featuring various Digimon and characters from across the franchise. Much like its competitors, it offers real-time PvP battles and deck customization. However, what sets it apart is the inclusion of an in-depth story mode—an exciting addition that brings narrative-driven gameplay to the mobile TCG genre.

The game was announced alongside a revealing trailer that offered glimpses of its gameplay mechanics and introduced a new cast of characters, including Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, as well as a newly revealed Digimon named Gemmon. While no official release date has been set, Bandai Namco mentioned plans for a closed beta test, with more details expected in the future.

Story Mode and Gameplay Features

One of the standout features of Digimon Alysion is the rumored inclusion of a full-fledged story mode. This would give players a more immersive experience compared to traditional mobile card games, offering both casual and competitive players a richer way to engage with the Digimon universe. The introduction of a female-led main cast also hints at a fresh narrative direction for the franchise.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger – New Details Revealed

During the same DIGIMON CON 2025 livestream, further details were shared about Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara provided insights into the game’s storyline, characters, and combat system. He confirmed that players will begin their journey with one of three classic starter Digimon from the original *Digimon Adventure* series: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon.

Expanded Roster and New Characters

With over 450 playable Digimon, Time Stranger now holds the record for the largest Digimon roster in the series' history—surpassing its predecessor, *Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory*, which featured 330 Digimon. Fan favorites like Angewomon, Gallantmon, and Agumon are confirmed to appear, delighting long-time fans.

Main Characters and Time-Based Gameplay

Players can choose between two protagonists: Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, who serve as secret agents for ADAMAS—a group dedicated to uncovering threats affecting both humans and Digimon. Joining them is Inori Misono, the game’s main heroine, and her partner Aegiomon. As suggested by the title, time travel plays a central role in the narrative, with the protagonist navigating different eras throughout the adventure.

Additional Franchise Announcements

DIGIMON CON 2025 also brought other exciting news, including a special 25th-anniversary PV for the Digimon anime, new booster packs and starter decks for the physical Digimon Trading Card Game, and the announcement of a brand-new anime series titled Digimon Beatbreak, scheduled to debut in October 2025.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Fans eager for updates should stay tuned for more information through official channels and our latest coverage.
