Deltarune, the eagerly anticipated game by Toby Fox, is set to bring exclusive features to its Nintendo Switch 2 version. Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, this release promises a unique gaming experience with new content and innovative gameplay elements.

Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

Deltarune's Switch 2 version will include chapters 3 and 4, along with exclusive features tailored for the next-generation console. A standout feature is a special room designed to utilize the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Toby Fox, the game's developer, shared in a Fangamer newsletter, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For those with non-Switch 2 devices, this unique room will still be accessible, though with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring continuity in their gaming journey.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In a generous move, Toby Fox announced that Deltarune will cost $24.99 and include Chapters 1 and 2, along with the new releases of Chapters 3 and 4. Initially, Chapter 1 was released in 2018 and Chapter 2 in 2021, both free to players. While it was previously indicated that Chapters 3-5 would be paid content, Fox has now confirmed that all future chapters will be added as free updates. He expressed, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game's soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4, with additional songs from future chapters included for free. Deltarune aims to offer fans exceptional value by providing future chapters and content at no additional cost.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are slated for release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
