Phase 1

In the Trials of the Frozen Mountain level on Stormpass, the ghostly voices of Khazan materialize into the Blade Phantom. This boss tests your ability to manage stamina and aggression amidst relentless attacks. The battle begins in a castle with crimson-flooded floors. Be ready for the following attacks:

  • A six-hit combo featuring four punches and two kicks, with the second kick being delayed.
  • A three-hit combo of two punches followed by a downward kick.
  • A four-hit combo starting with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and ending with a leaping kick smash.
  • A three-hit combo with flashing punches, concluding with a grab that requires dodging.

The Blade Phantom can also summon a giant hammer, causing red spikes to appear when it strikes the ground. If it switches to a spear, expect a quick throw followed by a teleporting smash. When using a blade, it unleashes a swift six-hit combo. Additionally, it can vanish and dash around before striking.

Mastering the timing of these attacks allows you to parry or dodge effectively, opening windows for your counterattacks. Focus on depleting its stamina to execute Brutal Attacks. Continue this strategy until the boss's health is reduced by about half, triggering the second phase.

Phase 2

Phase 2 kicks off with four claw attacks, followed by a high-altitude spear throw. Avoid the spear's landing zone and brace for a leaping swipe. Subsequent attacks include three greatsword slashes and a hammer smash.

In addition to new claw attacks, the Blade Phantom maintains its previous moves, introducing a spear thrust and follow-up, along with four to six sets of swift dual-wielding attacks. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when wielding the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes and the final Burst Attack, indicated by a red P-like symbol. Use Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry this, restoring your stamina and leaving the boss vulnerable.

Maximize damage by depleting the Blade Phantom's stamina and timing your Brutal Attacks when the window is nearly closed. Victory against this boss rewards you with 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
